When I think about music and the power it has, the word that comes to mind is longing. It is the feeling I get when I am moved by a song…my deep sense of longing inside. Longing for love. Longing for safety. Longing for a moment in the past. Longing for the present moment to never end. Longing for hope for the future. Longing. It is a longing for home really. That place where I make sense, where I fit, where there is peace. Music, more than anything else in my life, enables me to touch that place where I belong.
Take Me Away
Collaborative Project
Take Me Away is an EP collaborative project with our friends from Redeemer Anglican Church (Franklin, MA), One Church (Blauvelt, NY), and Trinity Church (Greenwich, CT). These songs came to life at our artists’ retreat in early 2026 and served as the backbone for our Art and Music Festival in Tappan, NY this August. The theme was “Beauty for the Brokenhearted.” They are inspired by stories of the woman caught in adultery in John 8:1-11 and the sinful woman in Luke 7:36-49. They tell what happens when you are at your lowest and you are met with the grace and love of Jesus.
